Charthouse Data Management Ltd. in Poole, Dorset, is seeking an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to join the engineering team.

This hands-on role covers the full electronics lifecycle from concept through PCB layout, prototyping, testing and validation, working closely with firmware, mechanical and production teams. You will design analogue and digital circuits, produce schematics and KiCad layouts, generate manufacturing files, build and test assemblies, and support design validation and

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• ≥5 years hands-on analogue/digital circuit design experience.
• Proficiency with KiCad for schematics, PCB layouts and manufacturing files.
• Understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly and DFMA.
• Experience with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analysers).
• Familiarity with LTspice or similar simulation software.
• Experience using version control systems.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analogue and digital circuits to meet requirements.
• Produce schematics and PCB layouts using KiCad.
• Prepare manufacturing files including Gerbers, BOMs and assembly docs.
• Build, prototype and test electronic assemblies.
• Perform functional verification, debugging and validation.
• Validate designs via simulation and bench testing.
• Collaborate with firmware and mechanical engineers to integrate electronics.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure production-ready designs.
• Maintain design documentation and revision records.
• Support ongoing product development and manufacturing processes.
