Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting two Early Years Area SENCOs to improve outcomes for young children with additional needs in Wirral. The role involves working with early years settings, professionals and families to support children with SEND to thrive in local communities.

It is a hybrid position with time in settings, at home and in the office base. We value collaborative, proactive team players who can coach practitioners, model inclusive practice and contribute to assessment

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children under five and a strong understanding of SEND and Early Years frameworks.
• Collaborative, proactive team player with a positive approach to SEND reform and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Coaching practitioners, modelling inclusive strategies in practice and ensuring guidance is embedded across settings.
• Provide expert advice, support and challenge to settings, build confidence in SENCOs and practitioners.
• Contribute to assessment and funding processes and undertake observations to respond to diverse needs.
