Job summary

Assystem is recruiting a Data Engineer to design, develop and support data products for reporting, analytics and operations on a major nuclear project. You will work with Databricks, SQL, Python and Azure technologies to deliver robust, scalable data solutions across safety, quality, schedule, cost and operations.

The role requires independent delivery, ownership of technical delivery and contribution to improving the data platform while collaborating with Data Architects and Performance

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience delivering data engineering or BI solutions.
• Strong commercial Databricks experience and Azure/Power BI knowledge.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration across sources.
• Proficient with Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, and SQL optimization.
• Experience with large, complex datasets and data modelling concepts.
• Knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, and governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data products using Databricks and Azure.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from multiple systems.
• Develop data transformations with PySpark, Spark SQL, SQL, and Python.
• Create curated datasets for BI, reporting, and analytics.
• Implement data quality, reconciliation, validation, and monitoring.
• Optimize pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost.
• Support reusable engineering frameworks, templates, and standards.
• Translate requirements into technical solutions and document them.
