Job summary

Fremantle is seeking a mid-level Data Engineer to join the Social Video team in London. You’ll design, build and optimise data pipelines that bring together performance, advertising, platform, audience and content data from global sources into our data environment.

Working with Google BigQuery, dbt and Microsoft Fabric, you will own key pipelines (YouTube, Meta) and help Finance access timely, accurate revenue and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Solid hands-on experience with data engineering.
• Experience building scalable data pipelines for analytics.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills.
• Knowledge of data modeling, governance and quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Ingest and integrate new data sources into Fremantle’s central data platform.
• Own the YouTube and Meta data pipelines, ensuring timely data reaches Finance.
• Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines using BigQuery and dbt.
• Ensure data integrity, governance, and security across the data platform.
• Collaborate with Data & Analytics to structure datasets for BI dashboards and reporting.
• Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability and efficiency; follow version control and CI/CD.
• Monitor pipeline health, data freshness and quality; document pipelines for reproducibility.
• Translate business needs into data models and adapt pipelines to schema changes.
• Automate data processes to reduce manual intervention and streamline operations.
• Stay current with data engineering technologies and share knowledge across the team.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS, Snowflake); Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
• Hands-on experience retrieving data from APIs (REST, JSON).
• Confident working with large datasets across formats (DBs, CSV, JSON, Parquet).
