Job summary

Co-op Group is hiring a Data Engineer in Manchester to join a team building a new data platform on Databricks. You will work on data pipelines using Python and SQL to support analytics, BI, and data science across diverse business areas.

The role offers hybrid working between home and the Manchester office, with a focus on scalable data solutions and collaboration with multiple stakeholder teams. A strong data engineering background and experience with cloud platforms are essential.

Qualifications

Significant experience as a Data Engineer delivering modern data architectures.
Experience using Python and SQL.
Strong organisational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Curiosity for emerging technologies and how they solve business problems.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with partners across the wider Co-op to build an understanding of their data problems and design solutions that satisfy business needs.
Develop, build and maintain enterprise data solutions within our cloud data platform, building automation and quality into everything we do.
Hands-on development of data pipelines using technologies and programme languages such as Databricks, PySpark and SQL.
Help to develop and implement our data architecture and engineering roadmap across our data teams.
