Job summary

Thorntons Law LLP in Edinburgh is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to protect clients, information, and systems. You will monitor security events, conduct vulnerability assessments, and support incident response across our security technology stack, including Microsoft Sentinel and Azure services.

You will collaborate with technology teams, perform risk reviews, and help promote strong security practices while staying updated on evolving threats and techniques.

Qualifications

• A good understanding of cyber security principles, controls and frameworks.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, remediation and security best practice.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure security capabilities and SIEM/endpoint technologies.
• Understanding identity and access management concepts and authentication technologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-team work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events, investigate initial triage and escalate as needed.
• Support incident response activities, evidence gathering and post-incident reviews.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and help remediation efforts.
• Maintain secure configurations across endpoints, servers, cloud services and networks.
• Assist with security technology administration, access reviews and identity protections.
• Produce security reports and dashboards, identify trends and improve controls.
