Job summary

Career Legal is sourcing a Compliance Analyst for a Manchester-based role with hybrid working within a leading international law firm. You will join the Business Acceptance Team, handling client due diligence, conflicts analysis and risk assessment on onboarding matters across practice areas.

You will collaborate with Risk & Compliance colleagues across the UK and US, supporting AML and sanctions risk reviews, information barrier projects, and process improvements while maintaining timely matter

Qualifications

• At least 1 year’s experience within a law firm Risk & Compliance environment, with exposure to AML, KYC/CDD and/or conflicts.
• Alternatively, a Paralegal background with relevant AML, KYC/CDD or Conflicts experience will be considered.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Confident communication skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Experience with Intapp Open would be advantageous but is not essential.
• A background in Law, Business, Finance, Criminology, Economics or another analytical/regulated discipline would be beneficial, but relevant experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct conflicts analysis and client due diligence on new clients and matters.
• Identify, assess and elevate higher-risk and reputational issues, including AML and sanctions risks.
• Assist with the establishment and maintenance of information barriers.
• Liaise with partners and legal practitioners regarding conflicts, AML risks and matter opening.
• Manage queries received through the Business Acceptance inbox.
• Ensure matters are opened accurately and within required timescales using Intapp Open.
• Support wider Business Acceptance projects, process improvements and team initiatives.
