Job summary

Checkatrade is seeking an IT Systems and Infrastructure Engineer to help build and scale secure, reliable infrastructure across hybrid environments. You will focus on automation, cloud management (Azure with AWS/Google exposure), IAM, and modern workplace tooling to empower teams.

Responsibilities include maintaining Windows/AD/M365 foundations, collaborating with security, platform, and engineering teams, and ensuring stability and security across the tech stack for a growing UK business.

Qualifications

• Experience managing IT infrastructure across Microsoft environments.
• Strong IAM with Okta for SSO, MFA, and lifecycle management.
• Cloud experience with Azure, plus exposure to AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Google Workspace and endpoint management across macOS/Windows/ChromeOS.
• Foundational networking and security knowledge (DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) or using automation tools like Okta Workflows or Zapier.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to explain technical details clearly.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining secure, reliable infrastructure that keeps our teams and systems running smoothly.
• Improving how we manage and automate our infrastructure by spotting opportunities and putting better solutions in place.
• Working closely with security, platform and software engineering teams to deliver tools and systems the business can rely on.
• Making sure our systems are stable, secure and easy for teams across Checkatrade to use.
