Job summary

Vicit is seeking a CAD Engineer in Egham to lead complex drawing production from concept to as-built, working in a hybrid setup. You will closely coordinate with design engineers, architects and installation teams to ensure drawings meet project specs and industry standards.

The role requires autonomy, technical accuracy and problem-solving across pre-construction through to completion, with strong mentoring for junior CAD staff and ongoing design governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a CAD-based role in engineering, manufacturing, or construction.
• Strong CAD software capabilities with attention to design accuracy and standards.
• Familiarity with BIM/ISO19650 and CDM 2015 guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and modification of complex 2D CAD drawings and 3D/BIM models based on designs and surveys.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary outputs with engineers, architects, contractors and managers.
• Review and approve drawing packages for technical accuracy, dimensioning, compliance and installation readiness.
• Interpret scope of work and BOM to produce detailed schematics and layouts.
• Maintain drawing version control and company CAD standards across projects.
• Provide mentorship to junior CAD technicians and support team development.
• Support site surveys and help resolve on-site technical issues when required.
• Manage design deliverables, timelines and quality assurance.
