Job summary

Blue Zoo Production seeks a Blender FX and procedural artist to design versatile 3D setups for hybrid FX, with strong shading and Geometry Nodes skills. You will deliver stylised effects such as smoke, fire, and water while supporting tight schedules and budget constraints.

Collaborating with the 2D Artists, Art Director and CG team, you will prototype reusable tools, maintain consistent artistic language across episodes, and adapt quickly to shot-specific needs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Blender with Geometry Nodes and Grease Pencil.
• Experience delivering stylised FX across sequences or episodes.
• Ability to create high-quality FX work both technically and artistically.
• Strong knowledge of simulation and procedural workflows.
• Solid understanding of traditional FX principles and production pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creative and technical direction of all FX across the production with the 2D FX artist.
• Design and develop a reusable procedural FX toolkit for use across episodes (e.g. magic, environment FX).
• Define hybrid FX workflow combining procedural systems, simulation-based FX, and 2D embellishment (Grease Pencil).
• Produce flexible assets aligning lighting and shading with artistic concepts and cache workflows for Maya integration.
