GM Motorsports seeks a Summer Intern to contribute to aerodynamic development, potentially focusing on CFD, physical testing, automation, data processing, and AI applications for engineering.

You will develop CFD workflows, assist wind-tunnel testing, and explore ML models to improve performance predictions and productivity. The role is hybrid with on-site duties at the Charlotte Technical Center in Concord, NC, and aligns with your interests and development goals.

Formación

• Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in physics, mathematics, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computational science, or related field.
• Must be graduating after September 2027 or beyond.
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months.
• Demonstrated experience developing CFD surrogate models, reduced-order models, or other data-driven methods.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design, aerodynamics, CFD, machine learning, or scientific computing.
• Communication of complex findings to specialized and cross-functional audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and improve CFD workflows across CAD prep, geometry cleanup, meshing, solver execution, post-processing, and automated reporting.
• Develop tools and methods for wind-tunnel aerodynamic testing, including test planning, data acquisition, and data processing.
• Develop and validate ML or surrogate models to improve aerodynamic prediction and flow-field inference.
• Create AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity and decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineers to define requirements, evaluate results, document methods, and communicate recommendations.
• Projects defined by team needs and candidate's experience and goals.
