Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a HVAP Shift Engineer for a Data Centre in Canary Wharf. The role involves controlling and supervising planned and reactive maintenance with a focus on safety and compliance.

You will act as an Authorised Person, ensuring safe systems and up-to-date paperwork while coordinating with management and client personnel. The shift engineer will support the Engineering Shift Leader and teams, working in a high-pressure, front-and-back of house role with opportunities for

• HV Authorisation and safety paperwork responsibilities.
• Current Wiring Regulations certificate requirement.
• Level 3 NVQ in the relevant discipline.
• Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.

Responsibilities

• Control and supervise planned and reactive maintenance tasks with support from the Engineering Supervisor and Shift Leader.
• Liaise with Engineering management and client personnel to ensure work complies with site policies and health and safety laws.
• Act as Authorised Person ensuring safety paperwork is completed to high standards.
• Support shift teams on site as required to meet time constraints and safety standards.
• Operate safely on and off front/back of house with client interaction at all levels.

HVAP Shift Engineer - Data Centre

Canary Wharf

Upto £60K + Benefits

Our Client is a leading FM & Maintenance Provider who has vacancy for a HVAP Shift Engineer to join their team

The successful candidate will be responsible for control and supervision of work tasks for planned and reactive maintenance with support from the building Engineering Supervisor and Shift Leader. They will also be liaising with Engineering management and client personnel to ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with site policies and procedures and within health and safety legislative requirements.

The candidate will be required to operate as an Authorised person ensuring all required safety paperwork is completed to a high standard whilst also ensuring alignment with company policies and safe system of work.

Whilst on site the Data Centre Engineer will report to the Engineering Shift Leader and will support the shift teams to ensure all works are carried out safely, to a high standard and within site specific time constraints. This role is a continental shift role for an experienced HVAP.

Experience / Skillset Required

• Manual Handling Training would be an advantage
• HV Authorisation
• Current Wiring Regulations certificate
• Level 3 NVQ in associated discipline
• Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification
• Experienced in real time incident / fault management in a business-critical environment
• Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a similar organisation
• Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations with regard to maintenance activities
• Good verbal communication skills
• Numerate & literate
• Show diligence in safe working both for themselves and occupants of the premises
• Self-motivated, with a high level of personal integrity
• Able to work well both in a team and alone
• Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high-pressure environments
• Courteous and presentable as the role is both front and back of house, with exposure to the client at all levels
• Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment
• Incumbents must be flexible regarding working hours
• PASMA & IPAF Preferred
• Knowledge of multiple interlinked systems (Fire, PMS BMS)
• Takes Ownership & Accountability
