About the Company

Midlands‑based mechanical & electrical design and build contractor delivering complex HVAC solutions across commercial and industrial projects.

Role Overview

Experienced Mechanical HVAC Building Project Manager to own projects valued £50k–£5m+. Direct report to Head of Department / Director. End‑to‑end responsibility from design development to installation, commissioning, and final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full lifecycle ownership of Mechanical HVAC projects from inception to handover.
  • Develop system specifications, plant schedules, and construction documentation.
  • Review construction drawings (AutoCAD/BIM exposure beneficial).
  • Prepare technical submissions, RFI correspondence.
  • Procure plant, materials, and subcontract packages.
  • Coordinate site activities, subcontractors, and labour.
  • Maintain commercial control: cost tracking, forecasts, valuations, final accounts.
  • Manage monthly payment applications, variations, and additional works.
  • Conduct site inspections, client and subcontractor meetings.
  • Resolve technical and delivery issues.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing, system start‑up.
  • Produce Operating & Maintenance manuals.
  • Provide client technical support and end‑user training.
  • Stay current with evolving HVAC technologies and industry best practice.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Mechanical HVAC design and build environments.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC principles and site delivery.
  • Background managing commercial and industrial mechanical projects.
  • Comfortable managing subcontractors, suppliers, and client interfaces.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD and BIM (working knowledge advantageous).
  • Commercially astute with strong cost and contract management capability.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Able to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a team.
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Building Services / HVAC.
  • Equivalent industry experience demonstrating same technical competence.
