A leading engineering business is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer for a long-term contract based in the Manchester area. Overview

HVAC Mechanical Design Opportunity - Outside IR35. We currently have a requirement for an HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer working for a leading engineering business based in the Manchester area. This position offers long term work as an outside IR35 contractor.

If you have experience working on HVAC Packages (Ductwork, chilled water pipework, bracketry, small steel structures) please read on.

You will provide independent Mechanical Design Services to support large scale Nuclear projects. This position can offer an immediate start and a generous hourly rate.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality drawings focusing on HVAC, Chilled Water pipework and small structural steelwork.
• Provide technical advice on constructability, manufacturability and integration of supports.
• Conduct independent review and provide technical feedback on supplier technical design submittals.
• Recommend opportunities to simplify, standardise or modularise designs to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Share best practices and lessons learned between project teams to support consistent design.
• Review and comment on 3rd party fabrication drawings and technical submittals.
• Provide calculations for HVAC installations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Design Engineer background with proven experience in HVAC supports, bracketry and small structural steel.
• Familiar with chilled water system design and integration of mechanical supports.
• Proficient in relevant design software (AutoCAD, PDMS, Tekla or similar).
• Experience in the Nuclear/Defence sector would be desirable.
