About the role

As a Husbandry Technician, you’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for the daily care and welfare of salmon stock at sea. Working closely with the Site Manager, Assistant Manager and Skipper, you’ll carry out feeding routines, monitor fish health and support the smooth running of site operations.

What you’ll be doing
  • Feeding and monitoring fish appetite to optimise growth and feed conversion
  • Operating manual and automatic feeding systems
  • Checking net integrity, removing mortalities and recording cause of death
  • Supporting grading, splitting and treatment operations
  • Maintaining walkways in a clean, tidy and safe manner
  • Upholding fish welfare and environmental standards
  • Following health & safety protocols
  • Relaying instructions and supporting junior staff where appropriate
  • Participating in weekend rota
What we’re looking for

You don’t need aquaculture experience - just a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn. We welcome applications from those with backgrounds in farming, production or other hands‑on roles.

  • ML5 medical and industry certifications provided
  • Entry‑level candidates welcome via temp-to-perm route (hourly rate of £14.10/hour based on 37.5 hours/week equivalent)
  • Permanent contracts available for those with relevant experience
Pay & perks
  • Starting salary between £27,500 to £29,000 depending on experience
  • Overtime rates: x1.5 weekdays / x1.75 weekends
  • Accommodation: Part‑subsidised housing available
