We’re working with a welcoming secondary school in Retford that’s looking for a confident Humanities Teacher. Whether your background is History, Geography, RE, or a mix of the lot, the school is open to meeting someone who brings energy, clarity, and a genuine love of big questions.
Teaching Humanities across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available if you’d enjoy it)
Creating lessons that get students thinking, discussing, and challenging ideas
Working closely with a supportive department
Planning, marking, and contributing to the wider curriculum
Building positive relationships with pupils and helping them make real progress
Bringing your subject to life with stories, context, and a bit of creative flair
A teacher with UK QTS or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge in at least one Humanities area
Someone who can explain big concepts in simple, memorable ways
Good behaviour management with a calm, consistent approach
A team‑player who loves sharing ideas and supporting colleagues
A sense of humour and the ability to roll with the unexpected
