Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming and well‑regarded secondary school in Northwood who are seeking a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full‑time, long‑term basis. This is an ideal opportunity for an aspiring teacher or someone looking to build experience within education.

Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview
  • Supporting students in lessons, small groups, or 1:1 across the Humanities department.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
  • Helping students develop subject knowledge, confidence, and study skills.
  • Supporting behaviour management and ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Assisting with resource creation, display work, and departmental organisation.
  • Providing cover or supervision when needed (training provided).
  • Helping prepare students for assessments, homework, and coursework tasks.
Requirements
  • A degree in a Humanities subject (History, Geography, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology, etc.).
  • A passion for education and desire to support young people.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with students.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and supportive approach.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
