Job summary

Axiom Hospitality seeks a People & Culture Manager for DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport. You will lead HR operations, drive people practices, and build strong relationships with stakeholders, managers and colleagues to promote an employer of choice.

The role reports to the General Manager and requires proactive, strategic thinking with exceptional communication and organisational skills. On-site position with focus on talent development and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR/People operations in hospitality.
  • Ability to manage payroll and recruitment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing recruitment, selection and onboarding.
  • Managing a performance management system/process.
  • Ensuring procedures comply with local employment laws.
  • Handling employee relations and leave management.
  • Managing monthly payroll and budgeted labour costs.
  • Day-to-day People function and processes; support management in succession planning.

We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive and passionate People & Culture Manager to join our Truly Talented team at Doubletree by Hilton Manchester Airport.

We are seeking a candidate with previous Human Resources management experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment. You will be confident in influencing senior colleagues and passionate about communicating best People practices. You’ll have a dynamic, bright personality with an intuitive and adaptable approach.

The role

The People & Culture Manager role will take the lead and provide comprehensive and confidential People & Culture support, contributing to our business goals whilst developing and maintaining positive relationships.

The role provides consistently high standard support, both administrative and non-administrative to the People department, actively driving our goal of becoming an employer of choice.

The role will report to General Manager. Building a strong relationship with the stakeholders, managers, and all colleagues will be essential.

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge and experience in HR, People operations or in a similar role. Be able to multitask, whilst being an organised, competent and resourceful individual with a passion for People development.

The ideal candidate must have exceptionally strong communication, analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills with a strategic mindset.

This role will be responsible for all aspects of the People & Culture function, including but not limited to:
  • Overseeing recruitment, selection and employee onboarding;
  • Managing a performance management system/process;
  • Ensuring the company's procedures comply with local employment laws;
  • Handling all aspects of employee relations;Managing employee sick leave, holiday and personal time off;
  • Managing monthly payroll, ensuring labour costs are in line with budget;
  • Manage day-to-day People function effectively and efficiently;
  • Supporting management in all in all performance and succession planning.
The core skills and experience required to succeed
  • Truly passionate about the Hospitality Industry with a genuine passion and a creative flair;
  • Previous experience in HR and Recruitment is required;
  • Team player who communicates well with all colleagues;
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy;
  • Previous experience within the hospitality or service-based industry would be ideal but not essential;
  • To be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach.
