Job Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR & People Manager to lead all aspects of human resources. This key leadership role is responsible for cultivating a high-performing, service-oriented culture by managing talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, and development.

The HR & People Manager will be a vital member of the management team, a trusted advisor to senior leaders, and will support departmental heads to ensure operational excellence through effective people management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals and brand standards.
  • Act as a business partner to leadership, advising on organisational design, workforce planning and employee relations.
  • Lead HR initiatives including culture-building, recognition programs and change management.
  • Support business needs through development, engagement, motivation, and retention of employees.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment across all departments.
  • Partner with managers to define hiring needs and maintain staffing levels.
  • Ensure interviewers are trained and competent.
  • Manage onboarding, induction and training for new employees.

Talent Management & Retention

  • Develop succession planning and performance evaluation frameworks.
  • Monitor engagement and implement initiatives to improve retention.
  • Implement reward and recognition schemes.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on performance, conduct and career development.
  • Manage grievances and disciplinary procedures fairly and legally.
  • Promote Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices.

Learning & Development

  • Support managers with induction and probation processes.
  • Coordinate and deliver training programs.
  • Monitor apprenticeships and NVQs where relevant.
  • Support career progression and succession planning.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies and records comply with employment law.
  • Manage HR systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Oversee payroll support, benefits, and headcount monitoring.
  • Manage disciplinary processes and terminations in line with regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policies.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, ACAS guidance and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in HR leadership roles.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
