Role Overview

Responsibilities
  • Managing and updating the new HR system
  • Drafting contract amendments and salary adjustment letters
  • Assisting with disciplinary and grievance meetings, including note-taking
  • Placing advertisements and conducting initial interviews
  • Ensuring Health & Safety documentation is distributed and responses collected
  • Assisting with diary management
  • Assisting with updating HR policies, handbooks, and terms & conditions
  • Providing general administrative support for both HR and Health & Safety functions
  • Travelling to depots across the UK to audit files and ensure compliance with controlled systems and procedures
  • Answering the phone and general office duties
  • Completing ad hoc tasks as needed
About You

We are looking for someone with some experience in HR or Health & Safety or who is working towards a relevant qualification. This role will involve lots of on-the-job training and support and additional courses will be supplied for the right candidate. Building relationships across the group and a willingness to travel, sometimes requiring overnight stays, are important. A good sense of humour is also valued! Success in this role requires excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You should be a confident communicator, able to engage with colleagues at every level from drivers to directors and with external partners. Resilience, attention to detail, a proactive approach, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.
