Job description

About Montcalm Collection

At Montcalm Collection, we believe that timeless style and genuine hospitality are more than just values, they're a way of life. Our people are the heart of our hotels: passionate individuals working together as a team, united by an unwavering commitment to providing first-class personal service.

Our collection spans some of London's most storied buildings, from elegant Georgian townhouses and an 18th-century brewery to a historic head office and a contemporary architectural landmark. Each hotel has its own unique story and, within every one, our team creates unforgettable experiences for our guests.

While our walls speak of history, it's our people, their ambition and their creativity that shape our future. Join us and become part of a culture that celebrates individuality, nurtures potential and upholds the very highest standards of the art of hospitality.

Purpose of the Role

Lead recruitment delivery across assigned hotel and support vacancies, from the hiring brief through to an accepted offer and successful handover for joining. Advise hiring managers on attraction and fair selection, build pipelines for priority roles, and use recruitment data to improve hiring outcomes. Set the day-to-day priorities for the Coordinator's recruitment work and manage exceptions.

Represent Montcalm Collection and its values of Belonging, Sensitivity, Wellbeing, Changemaking and Sustainability with professionalism, warmth and care.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment delivery and manager partnership
  • Take ownership of assigned vacancies, agreeing the role requirements, selection criteria, recruitment approach and timetable with the hiring manager.
  • Choose sourcing channels, proactively approach and screen candidates, lead or support interviews and assessments, and present evidence-based shortlists.
  • Advise hiring managers on fair, consistent decisions; challenge unnecessary delays and follow up selection feedback and next steps.
  • Own substantive candidate relationships, including selection feedback, sensitive queries, offer discussions and negotiation within approved parameters.
  • Recommend offer terms within agreed budgets and secure all approvals before terms are communicated. Track acceptance and hand over approved details to the Coordinator for documentation and joining arrangements.
Attraction and talent pipelines
  • Build and maintain pipelines for recurring and difficult-to-fill roles, and review sourcing effectiveness.
  • Plan and lead open days, careers events and recruitment campaigns, with the Coordinator arranging logistics.
  • Develop relationships with hospitality schools, universities and other talent partners; support internal mobility and employer brand activity.
  • Set priorities and check progress for the Coordinator's scheduling, documentation, checks and onboarding administration; resolve or elevate exceptions.
  • Ensure selection decisions, records and pre-employment steps follow company policy, fair selection principles, data protection requirements and right-to-work procedures. Escalate specialist or unresolved compliance issues promptly.
  • Analyse vacancies, time to fill, source performance and offer acceptance; share recommendations with managers and the People & Culture lead.
  • Improve recruitment processes, coach hiring managers in agreed standards and contribute recruitment insight to workforce planning.
Scope of Authority

Accountable for recruitment delivery on assigned vacancies and day-to-day direction of the Coordinator's recruitment work. Final hiring decisions remain with hiring managers. Pay, exceptions and sensitive employment or immigration issues require the relevant approval or specialist advice. This role does not have direct reports unless the reporting structure is formally changed.

Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple vacancies across the full recruitment cycle, ideally in hospitality or another service business.
  • Strong sourcing, interviewing, assessment and stakeholder management skills, with confidence to advise and challenge managers.
  • Working knowledge of UK recruitment practice, fair selection, right-to-work processes and data protection, with sound judgement on escalation.
  • Ability to interpret recruitment data, prioritise difficult vacancies and improve sourcing approaches.
  • Experience using recruitment and HR systems such as Harri and Fourth; employer branding or events experience is helpful.
