Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Basildon is seeking a People Adviser to manage employee relations and support HR initiatives. Ideal candidates will have a strong HR background, CIPD Level 5, and excellent communication skills. The role includes up to £40,000 per annum, 25 days annual leave, and the opportunity to work from home one day a week.

We’re working with a leading healthcare provider that’s looking for a People Adviser to join their growing team. The business is family-owned, award-winning, and prides itself on supporting colleagues to thrive while delivering exceptional care across their homes.

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted partner to managers and teams — providing advice, guidance, and hands‑on support across all areas of HR. You’ll manage employee relations, contribute to people projects, and help shape initiatives that foster a positive, compassionate culture.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Managing a varied ER caseload – disciplinaries, grievances, absence and capability
  • Advising managers with clarity, empathy, and fairness
  • Supporting people-focused initiatives and organisational development projects
  • Contributing to reporting and data insights on areas such as retention and absence
  • Working closely with a supportive Head of People and regional teams
What we’re looking for:
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience – Level 7 support available)
  • Strong generalist HR background within a regulated environment (healthcare ideal)
  • Confident knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practice
  • Excellent communicator who leads with care and professionalism
The offer:
  • Up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Basildon HQ – 1 day per week from home, plus some travel across East Anglia
