About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to oversee and direct all aspects of our HR operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading workforce planning, employee relations, and talent development initiatives to ensure the company’s strategic objectives are achieved in compliance with UK employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine staffing needs and develop effective recruitment and retention strategies tailored to a retail environment
  • Oversee the preparation of job descriptions, draft advertisements, and lead the interview and selection process
  • Manage employee performance appraisals, training programmes, and career development plans
  • Develop and administer salary, promotion, and health & safety policies
  • Ensure compliance with all UK employment and health & safety regulations and advise management on necessary adjustments to HR policy
  • Evaluate company structures and operational efficiency, making recommendations for improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent more than 3 years’ experience in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in HR management, preferably within retail or consumer goods
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese, both written and spoken, as HR operations include liaising with Japanese suppliers, coordinating training materials, and supporting staff who speak Japanese
