HSSU Coordinator – Chichester Hospital | Sterile Services | Permanent | Full time

Up to £24,852.36 depending on experience, 37.5 hours per week.

Our HSSU (Hospital Sterile Services Unit) plays a vital role in transporting sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to the local hospital network. Join the UK's largest Healthcare Charity and help improve lives.

Main duties of the job
  • Move and handle trays and items of various weights and sizes
  • Maintain accurate records and keep documentation up to date
  • Dispose of contaminated waste in accordance with hospital policy
  • Regularly check that equipment is in good working order and report all faults
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment
  • Take action to rectify problems and escalating issues where necessary
About us

Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital is a 30-bed hospital within walking distance of the city centre with free onsite car parking. It has two laminar flow operating theatres and two minor treatment rooms in the outpatient department. There is a small radiology department and CT/MRI services are provided in a mobile unit. Inpatient physiotherapy is provided within the hospital, whilst our outpatients attend the fitness and wellbeing centre at Chichester Gate for their follow-up physio and hydrotherapy treatments. Our main speciality is orthopaedics and we also care for patients needing treatment within the specialties of gynaecology, urology, general surgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, and rheumatology.
