Job summary

Network Plus is seeking a proactive HSEQ Lead to drive health, safety, environment and quality across our utilities contracts in the UK. You will cascade initiatives, ensure compliance and manage audits, with direct reporting to the Head of HSEQ.

The role requires NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, UK driving license, and proven experience in incident investigations, audits and HSEQ management within high-risk environments. A strong client liaison and training focus are essential.

Qualifications

  • Health, safety, environment and quality focus across utilities contracts.
  • Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and related audits.
  • Knowledge of UK HSEQ legislation and client technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead health, safety, environment and quality management for contracts.
  • Cascade HSEQ initiatives, systems, processes and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, audits and reviews at site and remotely.
  • Manage verification inspections and close non-conformances.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and ensure proper reporting.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly HSEQ compliance and performance reports.
  • Address risks and drive improvements in liaison with HSEQ team and auditors.
  • Monitor incident statistics and report at client meetings.
  • Support training and competency requirements to meet standards.
  • Build strong client relationships and promote safe behaviours on site.

Description

As a HSEQ Lead, you will be responsible for health, safety, environment and quality aspects of work delivered through our utilities contracts. This role links to a wider central HSEQ team meaning you will be responsible for communicating and cascading HSEQ initiatives, systems, processes, activities, regulatory and compliance requirements across the business. The role reports directly to the Head of HSEQ.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will have a passion for ensuring exceptional levels of health, safety, quality and environmental standards are delivered; putting in place the processes and reports to continually monitor and maintain quality standards
  • You will be responsible for ensuring correct HSEQ reporting, recording, documentation management and safe systems of work; this includes regular inspections, audits and quality checks both at site and remotely
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the completion of verification inspections and au-dits; following up on closure of findings/non conformances
  • You will undertake and support the accident and incident investigations; promoting good quality reporting and closure
  • You will complete a weekly and monthly report on HSEQ compliance, performance and achievements plus issues identified
  • You will proactively address and manage any risks identified; communicating and driv-ing improvements as well as close liaison with the internal HSEQ Team and external auditors
  • You will monitor Accident and Incident statistics for the contract; sharing reports at cli‑ent meetings
  • You will support the contract on training and competency requirements, ensuring that the contracts are achieving the highest standards of training compliance
  • You will build and maintain relationships with the client
  • You will drive the correct and safe behaviours out on site and within the office
  • You will assist the Quality Assurance and Environmental Lead with accreditations and provide support where required, with standards, including but not limited to ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001, Achillies, ROSPA and more
  • You will support the contracts with quality control inspections to ensure that the correct standards are in place at all times, carrying out briefings/training for engineers and su‑pervisors as appropriate
Experience and Qualifications
  • Health & Safety Qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent L6 qualification)
  • Lead Investigator certification
  • Lead Auditor qualification (e.g., ISO 9001)
  • IEMA Certificate (or equivalent environmental qualification)
  • In‑depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, regulatory frameworks, client technical standards, and the application of internal Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Experience conducting subcontractor due diligence and compliance assessments
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing HSEQ management systems
  • Experience managing incident investigations through to root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Experience leading an internal audit and maintaining external accreditations.
  • Experience within construction or other high risk environments
  • Utilities experience would be highly desirable
  • Full UK Driving License
