Job summary

M‑Tec Engineering Solutions, a leading engineering firm, is seeking an HSE Manager to oversee health, safety and environmental policies across the site. You will develop strategies to promote a safety culture, reduce risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead risk assessments.

Responsibilities include coordinating risk assessments, statutory training, audits, and training programmes; advising on PPE; liaising with external consultants; and reporting at HSE meetings.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a similar HSE role.
  • NEBOSH qualified.
  • Experience in policy development and risk assessments.

  • Advise on PPE and provide relevant training/instruction on use.

  • Keep up to date with legislation and communicate changes to the business.
  • Lead monthly HSE meetings and report on health & safety matters.

HSE Manager

A high volume manufacturer is currently looking to strengthen their department with the appointment of a HSE Manager.

As HSE Manager, you will oversee the implementation of health, safety and environmental policies within the company. Develop strategies to promote a safety culture, reduce occupational risks, and ensure regulatory compliance. Identify risk areas, assess incidents, and propose corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments and actions for all work equipment and operations, ensure actions are completed, and utilise on-site trained personnel to carry out risk assessments.
  • Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  • Co‑ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
  • Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
  • Establish and deliver a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the company.
  • Advise on suitable PPE and give or obtain relevant training/instruction on use.
  • Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
  • Lead the monthly HSE meetings and report on relevant health & safety matters. Liaise with suppliers such as insurers and solicitors.
  • Provision of advice to managers and supervisors.
  • Review H&S investigations and provide guidance as necessary.
  • Experience in formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and review with relevant stakeholders company processes to ensure that they conform to total quality standards and that there is a process of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Experience of at least 3 years in a similar role.
  • NEBOSH qualified.
