What is the role?

Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Manager (HSE) Manager. Circa £55,896, £4,750 flex allowance, up to 20% discretionary bonus + benefits

What is the role?

As an Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) Manager you will lead a team of OHSE Advisors and oversee elements of our integrated ISO management system. Your role will ensure that this business is supported while compliance and conformance with OHSE policies, standards, legal and other requirements is delivered, while fostering a culture of improvement and risk management. Your role will provide occupational health, safety and environmental support and assurance through the management of a vertical OHSE inspection and horizontal OHSE audit programme across the airport, while providing support for business units.

What will you do?
  • Manage and support a team of OHSE Advisors, foster a positive OHSE culture through active engagement, clear communication, and visible leadership across the business.
  • Responsible for providing information, instruction, and guidance through documented processes and procedures.
  • Manage and deliver a programme of OHSE inspections and audits identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Lead investigations providing assurance, support and ensuring corrective actions are tracked, learnt from and closed.
  • Prepare detailed reports and metrics for OHSE leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Deliver OHSE projects including training, inductions, and workshops to influence and reinforce OHSE behaviours.
Do you have what we’re looking for?
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent; Certified IOSH status or above.
  • Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
  • Extensive OHSE experience in a multi-function, complex and customer orientated organisation.
  • Proven track record in the delivery of OHSE objectives typically associated with extensive experience.
  • Strong team leadership skills and experience (managing 3+ people).
  • Proven stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation, enforcement framework and industry standards.
  • Experience in delivering OHSE culture and behavioural change programmes.
  • Strong IT and presentation skills. Able to analyse, interpret and present OHSE information.
  • Knowledge of data systems and ability to use IT to collect, analyse, interpret and present information.
