Job description

HSE Recruitment are working with a global manufacturing business in Leamington Spa who are looking for a HSEQ Manager to support the site in improving compliance and culture across the site.

Your purpose is to provide HSEQ management, support and advice across the site, to share and implement best practice across the wider group and work closely with a sister site in the UK. You will build strong working relationships with all departments to embed safety and quality into daily operations and promote and drive a proactive HSEQ culture through visible leadership, communication, and engagement.

You will have 1 direct and 1 indirect report on site and report into a HSEQ Director.

We are looking for a strong leader to develop competence across the site. Someone who has developed and nurtured people before, can navigate complex relationships and build and improve the culture, ensuring high levels of compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the HSEQ subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior management.
  • Lead, coach, and support local HSEQ team and provide mentoring to wider HSEQ team.
  • Lead the development and implementation of health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with ISO 45001.
  • Managing ISO 14001 and 9001.
  • Carry out and review comprehensive risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), ensuring effective control measures are in place and communicated.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, producing high-quality reports with clear root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and track health and safety performance metrics, producing monthly reports and identifying trends to drive targeted improvement.
  • Ensure robust emergency preparedness, fire safety, and first-aid arrangements are in place and tested regularly (in conjunction with site team).
  • Work with operational managers to ensure contractor management processes are robust, including pre-qualification, permit-to-work, and supervision requirements.
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and ensure compliance with permits, licences, and local authority requirements.
  • Lead environmental incident investigations and drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Qualifications and Experience
  • NEBOSH Certificate level as a minimum.
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering or production would be an advantage but not above the personality traits we need.
  • Experience managing and leading a team.
  • Strong character and resilient, engaging and personable and good communication skills.
  • Salary is circa £50‑55,000 + package.
