Greys Specialist Recruitment is working with an ambitious and expanding contractor delivering construction and refurbishment projects across commercial, industrial and FMCG environments throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, the business is recruiting an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to lead its HSE function and take overall responsibility for HSE strategy, systems, compliance and continuous improvement.
This is a genuine management-level appointment. Applicants must already have extensive experience working as an H&S Manager and hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health and Safety qualification.
You must also have a proven construction and refurbishment background, including experience supporting work within FMCG or other live operational environments. General manufacturing or facilities experience without substantial construction/refurbishment responsibility will not be sufficient.
Working closely with directors, project managers, site teams and clients, you will lead the company's HSE function and ensure consistent standards across multiple construction and refurbishment projects.
The position combines strategic ownership with visible operational involvement. You will be expected to develop systems and report to senior management while remaining confident carrying out site audits, reviewing RAMS, leading investigations and challenging project teams.

This role will not suit an Advisor seeking their first management appointment unless they can already demonstrate substantial management-level ownership of an HSE function.
The successful candidate will receive:

This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of the HSE function within an expanding contractor delivering varied construction and refurbishment projects.
You will work directly with senior leadership and play a central role in developing the company's systems, improving performance and supporting its continued growth.
