Job Description
- Leading the planning, measurement, review, and audit of all HSE activities.
- Setting and maintaining high standards for health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Advising management on best practice and legal compliance.
- Establishing and embedding effective HSE management systems.
- Ensuring all customer, permit, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Providing technical expertise and support to the management team.
- Keeping the business up to date with new legislation and industry developments.
- Building strong relationships with emergency services and regulatory agencies.
- Compiling and communicating HSE performance data to inform business priorities.
- Driving continuous improvement as a key member of the management team.
- Ensuring HSE business plans are current, tracked, and actioned.
- Delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Leading internal and external audits to maintain ISO14001:2015 compliance.
- Overseeing site security and maintaining environmental policies and manuals.
- Conducting HSE management review meetings and maintaining legal registers.
The Successful Applicant
- NEBOSH Diploma (essential); Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) preferred.
- IEMA qualification desirable.
- Strong background in Health, Safety & Environmental management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Technically strong, with the ability to provide accurate, detailed guidance.
- Proactive, solutions-driven, and able to demonstrate a track record of achievement in a fast-paced environment.
- Experienced in conducting HSE audits.
- A true team player, passionate about making a difference and shaping the H&S agenda.
- Robust, assertive, and able to remain decisive under pressure.
- Confident operating at senior levels and representing the business externally.
