Job summary

Shirley Parsons Ltd. is recruiting an experienced HSE Manager for a permanent role based in New Forest. You will lead safety, health and environmental strategies across a complex industrial operation, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.

The role requires strong knowledge of COMAH regulations, NEBOSH Diploma, and proven leadership to influence multi-site teams, deliver investigations, risk assessments and regulatory reporting while fostering a positive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Health, Safety and Environment leadership role within a COMAH–regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of COMAH regulations and UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Experience leading Process Safety or Major Accident Hazard programmes and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental management systems across multiple operational sites.
• Provide expert guidance to operational teams, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, permits and internal standards.
• Driving a proactive safety culture through audits, inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments and employee engagement initiatives.
• Monitoring SHE performance, analysing trends and delivering strategic improvement plans to enhance operational safety, environmental performance and regulatory compliance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Safety, Health & Environment Manager to join a leading industrial services and environmental solutions business.

Operating across multiple sites and supporting a diverse range of hazardous and non–hazardous waste management activities, the organisation plays a vital role in helping customers achieve their sustainability and compliance objectives.

This position will lead the SHE agenda across a complex operational environment, driving continuous improvement and fostering a positive safety culture across the site.

The Health Safety Environment Manager will be responsible for:

• Leading the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental management systems across multiple operational sites.
• Providing expert guidance and support to operational teams, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, permits and internal standards.
• Driving a proactive safety culture through audits, inspections, incident investigations, risk assessments and employee engagement initiatives.
• Monitoring SHE performance, analysing trends and delivering strategic improvement plans to enhance operational safety, environmental performance and regulatory compliance.

The Health Safety Environment Manager will have:

• Proven experience in a Health, Safety and Environment leadership role within a COMAH–regulated environment, ideally within waste management, chemicals, hazardous materials, manufacturing or other high–hazard industrial operations.
• Strong working knowledge of COMAH regulations, UK health, safety and environmental legislation, with a proven track record of maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting inspections from relevant authorities.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, with experience leading Process Safety or Major Accident Hazard programmes and membership of IOSH being advantageous.
• Excellent leadership, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive a positive safety culture, lead incident investigations, and deliver continuous improvement across complex, multi–site operations.
