The Opportunity

You ll be the lead voice for Health, Safety & Environment across the organisation, working closely with senior management to modernise systems, support teams, and ensure a strong culture of safety and accountability.

This role suits someone who loves balancing strategy with day–to–day activity someone who can shape the function long–term while also rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in audits, training, assessments and continuous improvement work.

What You ll Be Doing
  • Owning, developing and improving the company s HSE management systems and policies.
  • Conducting audits, inspections and investigations, ensuring compliance and driving high standards.
  • Leading risk assessments and RAMS reviews and supporting managers with practical risk–reduction measures.
  • Delivering engaging H&S and environmental training across the business.
  • Managing contractor safety and ensuring correct documentation and site controls.
  • Driving sustainability initiatives and supporting ongoing environmental improvements.
  • Reporting HSE performance and insights to senior leadership.
  • Supporting ISO standards and wider systems development (e.g., 9001, 45001 and environmental frameworks).
What You ll Need
  • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential).
  • Strong HSE background within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience with audits, risk assessments, policy development and safety investigations.
  • A pragmatic, hands–on approach and the confidence to influence at all levels.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to embed a positive safety culture.
  • An interest in environmental management and sustainability.
