HSE Engineer (12-Month Contract)

Are you looking to take the next step in your Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) career? This is an exciting opportunity for a junior HSE professional to join a well-established organisation on a 12-month contract, contributing to the continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental standards.
The Role
As the HSE Engineer, you will support the implementation and maintenance of company policies, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal HSE regulations. Working under the guidance of a supervisor, you'll play a key role in the development of safe working procedures, risk assessments, and environmental initiatives across the site.
This role will also see you engage with internal teams and regulatory bodies to promote and uphold best-in-class HSE practices.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design and development of safe work environments and procedures
Maintain and update HSE manuals, documentation, and systems
Ensure compliance with current environmental, health, and safety legislation
Assist with audits, inspections, and incident investigations
Stay informed of regulatory changes and advise on any necessary updates
Act as a liaison with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
About You
You are a motivated HSE professional looking to grow your experience in a dynamic environment. You have a solid understanding of HSE principles and regulations, and you're confident following established guidelines and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
Working knowledge of HSE regulations and standards
Relevant HSE qualifications or certifications
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively
Previous experience in a similar role or industrial setting is advantageous
