Job summary

A recruitment agency seeks an HSE Coordinator for a Manufacturing Engineering client in Stockport. The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of HSE policies, coordinate trainings, and conduct audits. Ideal candidates should have experience in an engineering environment, knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 standards, and strong communication skills. This position involves working Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist to develop and review HS&E policies and procedures.
  • Collate and analyze incident statistics.
  • Present incident statistics at monthly HSE meetings.
  • Conduct incident investigations and report on occurrences.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness drills.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an HSE Coordinator to join an expanding Manufacturing Engineering client based in Stockport.

This position has been created due to company growth which has created growth within the team.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within a similar role with exposure to working within a Manufacturing Engineering environment, with an understanding and appreciation for risk and hazards within this type of working environment.

Candidates must have strong people skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of staff and look to truly educate staff in relation to HSE process.

Working knowledge of current HSE standards (ISO 45001 and 14001) are a must.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8AM – 4.30PM.

Role Description
  • Assist to develop, implement, monitor and review HS&E policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe working instructions, to ensure compliance with local and Legislative requirements.
  • Collate and analyze incident statistics (accident/near miss/ property damage) and recommend intervention strategies to eliminate/reduce the risk of future occurrences and incidents of ill health and lost work days.
  • Present incident statistics at monthly HSE meetings and other committees/forums.
  • Carry out investigations and report on all incidents, inclusive of accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences as necessary, liaise with the HR Department where necessary.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness drills, e.g., site evacuations.
  • Ensure all contractors/subcontractors have in place appropriate documentation in line Contractor approval procedures.
  • Undertake audits and workplace inspections of operations to proactively identify where health and safety management practices can be improved to enhance health and safety performance.
  • Ensure completion of HSE induction is completed for new employees in addition to contractors & visitors where applicable.
  • Ensure all persons on site are aware of the Health and Safety Policy and how to adhere to the health and safety/emergency procedures.
  • Bring to the attention of the local Senior Management Team and line Senior HSE representatives any major health and safety issues.
  • Manage and support the site’s ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 management systems.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001/45001 standards.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate.
  • IOSH qualified.
  • Ability to coach, train and engage employees.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
