Our client is currently recruiting a HSE Advisor to support the EH&S Manager and wider EH&S department in communicating and driving a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with a range of business functions and departments as necessary to ensure that Company activities are undertaken in accordance with the EH&S policy and relevant regulatory requirements
- Assist in promoting a high level of awareness of EH&S compliance requirements throughout the Company
- Assist in developing and implementing effective EH&S management systems and in identifying areas for improvement
- Lead in developing and implementing EH&S related policies, procedures, risk assessments, reports, work instructions and in the drafting of training materials
- Lead in the co‑ordination of EH&S internal audits, actions and recommendations in conjunction with the wider EH&S department
- Provide technical advice, coaching and assistance to all fellow associates as required to support the effective day‑to‑day management of business risk and sustainment of EH&S compliance.
- Assist in maintaining and updating EH&S opportunity and risk registers and associated compliance action trackers
- Assist with the co‑ordination and delivery of EH&S training programmes as required to meet the needs of the business and the achievement of its objectives
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a similar EH&S advisory or compliance focused role, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing‑based environment
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Technical Grade Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH) or equivalent, demonstrable professional experience
- Sound knowledge and experience of EH&S legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice. In particular, experience gained in one or more of the following areas would be considered beneficial
- PUWER Regulations
- DSEAR Regulations
- COSHH Regulations
- PPC Regulations
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) management system requirements.
