Job summary

A leading health and safety consultancy is looking for an HSE Advisor to join their team in Great Yarmouth on a full-time permanent basis. The role involves conducting HSE inductions, managing safety observation systems, and leading investigations. Ideal candidates should have a NEBOSH General Certificate and experience in incident investigations along with excellent communication skills. This position offers opportunities to enhance workplace safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Job description
HSE Advisor – Great Yarmouth

P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking an HSE Advisor to join their team on a full‑time permanent basis, based in Great Yarmouth.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct employee HSE inductions
  • Manage the Behavioural Safety Observation System and improve workforce participation
  • Document site tours/inspections with findings and follow‑up actions
  • Coordinate weekly fire alarm testing and emergency exercise scenarios
  • Schedule and chair HSE Committee meetings, fire warden meetings and toolbox talks
  • Lead accident and incident investigations including Root Cause Analysis and share learnings
  • Provide input to Site Health and Safety Internal Audits and compile and distribute HSE & Technical alerts
  • Report and maintain facets such as monthly HSE data/statistics collaboration and update COSHH records of all chemical hazard risk assessments and safety data sheets

Skills and Experience:

  • The ability to build influential relationships and communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • A proactive approach to working with people and strong problem‑solving skills
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Accident / Incident Investigation
  • CosHH Assessor
  • Experience and understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 (highly desirable)
