Job summary

A healthcare service provider is seeking an HSDU Technician to provide a decontamination service across multiple departments. Responsibilities include cleaning and sterilising surgical equipment, along with general housekeeping duties. Overview

Contract: Permanent. Type: Full Time. Hours: 30. Salary: £19,098.88. Location: Dudley Hospitals - Dudley - Russells Hall Hospital.

Responsibilities

As an integral member of the HSDU team, the post holder will provide a decontamination service to all theatres, wards and departments throughout the Trust. The department is responsible for the cleaning, inspection, assembly, packing and sterilising of surgical equipment. You will receive and prepare contaminated equipment for washing through an automated process and reassemble and pack equipment to customer requirements. You must load equipment into sterilisers and unload and dispatch equipment to theatres, wards and departments. You are required to safely operate decontamination equipment and undertake routine testing as required. You will also undertake general housekeeping of workstations and dispose of clinical/household waste and report defects of equipment to Supervisors. You will assist in departmental audits and investigate any non-conformances. You are required to undertake any training appropriate to HSDU and to complete all mandatory training.

Qualifications

We are looking for a good level of numeracy and literacy and to be flexible. You are required to be able to stand for long periods. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and to be able to work in a very busy environment. No experience necessary as full training is given.
