Job summary

Carmichael UK in Buckinghamshire (HS2 project) is seeking a Site Engineer to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure works. You will be responsible for setting out, ensuring QA, and supporting site operations across structures and highways.

The role requires proven site-engineering experience on large projects, a strong background in structures and highways, and familiarity with GPS/Total Station setting-out and QA documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in structures and highways.
• Experience with HS2 or Tier 1 contractors desirable.
• Competent with setting out equipment (GPS, Total Station).
• Good understanding of QA processes and site documentation.
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Setting out for structures and highways works (foundations, reinforced concrete, drainage, roadworks).
• Ensuring works are carried out in line with design drawings and specifications.
• Managing QA processes, ITPs and as-built records.
• Supporting site management with daily site operations.
• Liaising with subcontractors and site teams to ensure programme delivery.
• Maintaining high levels of health & safety on site.
