Job description

As Senior HS &E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS &E Manager on all health, safety and environmental aspects by leading a team of HS &E Advisors to deliver a first‑class service to our clients. You will support and implement the HS &E strategy and systems to ensure that the delivery of our operations meets exemplary safety, health and environmental standards. This role supports improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems, and implementing continual improvement initiatives across the framework.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the HS &E Advisors ensuring active engagement in their framework and delivery teams
  • Support the implementation of the HS &E strategy ensuring consistency across all projects
  • Promote and embed the behavioural programme “Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours”
  • Ensure the Business Management System is correctly implemented in line with client and business requirements
  • Provide specialist technical guidance to line management and site teams
  • Act as a point of engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulators and supply chain partners
  • Provide HS &E input from planning stage through to project completion
  • Review performance using HS &E KPIs and drive improvement actions
  • Support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Produce monthly HS &E performance reports
  • Support development reviews and training plans for HS &E Advisors
  • Escalate significant HS &E issues to the Framework HS &E Manager
Qualifications
  • Relevant HS &E experience within construction, infrastructure, or a regulated environment
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of HS &E management systems, legislation and risk management
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience in delivering training and behavioural improvement initiatives
  • Organised, analytical and able to work in complex operational environments
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across sites
Essential
  • NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate
  • Supervisory experience within HS &E
  • Competent with Microsoft Office
Desirable
  • Membership of IOSH or IIRSM
  • CMIOSH or working towards
  • ISO 45001 audit experience
