The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) plays a vital role in keeping Britain’s roads safe and efficient.

Our HR Department in DVLA has a fantastic opportunity, for a Wellbeing & Inclusion Lead to join our team! As lead, you will be the centre focal point for all HR Wellbeing and Inclusion activities aligned to Civil Service, DfT and DVLA's wellbeing and inclusion strategies.

This role offers variety, with no two days being the same. This is an extremely rewarding role, that puts people at the heart of everything we do within DVLA. You will be required to analyse and translate key information and communicate this clearly and concisely to key stakeholders to influence ways of promoting wellbeing and inclusion in the workplace. You'll be a role model for treating people fairly and have a positive attitude towards promoting an inclusive culture within the business and externally with customers and local community groups. This role, it’s about building relationships, breaking down barriers and getting people on board with the business strategic direction and making a difference to the way individuals work and live.

We are looking for a proactive and influential Wellbeing and Inclusion Lead to drive DVLA’s inclusion and wellbeing agenda. You will lead the delivery of our Wellbeing and Inclusion Strategy, ensuring alignment with the wider Civil Service, DfT and DVLA priorities.

You will develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, staff networks and support groups, representing the Agency in departmental and cross-government forums. Using your expertise in equality legislation and policy, you will translate complex requirements into practical actions, ensuring DVLA meets its statutory obligations.

The role involves analysing data to identify trends, developing new policies, and leading initiatives that build awareness, capability and cultural change across the organisation. You will provide professional advice and guidance to senior leaders and colleagues, supporting the creation of an inclusive and healthy workplace where everyone can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Networking and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, customers and support groups on the development of Wellbeing and Inclusion initiatives, including representing the Agency in Civil Service, Departmental and external forums when necessary.
  • Being responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery on progress of actions on the Agency’s Wellbeing and Inclusion Strategy, ensuring these directly relate to the wider Civil Service and DfT Inclusion and Wellbeing agenda and, regularly reviewing actions to ensure timely execution and priorities are achieved.
  • Translating complex equality legislation into practice to ensure DVLA meets its statutory requirements.
  • Analysing D&I Management Information (MI) to identify emerging gaps and trends which may need to be addressed to improve equality and wellbeing, to implement actions to continuously improve the business objectives and staff compliance.
  • Providing leadership for the development, implementation and communication of wellbeing and inclusion initiatives, using appropriate styles to raise awareness of the wellbeing and inclusion agenda. Ensuring key messages and information for both internal and external audiences are appropriately conveyed, encouraging staff to take responsibility in creating an inclusive culture in the workplace and for our customers.
