Job description
Overview

We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and compassionate HR/People Officers to support our Central IHC services, based at our offices in Royal Alexandra Hospital. You will work alongside the People Business Partner to provide HR advice to a variety of clinical and non‑clinical managers as well as supporting our administration team. You will be required to travel across North Wales to attend meetings within this role.

Responsibilities
  • You will be the first point of contact for all HR matters and queries arising from employees and managers. You will report to the Business Partner, who will provide overall ER case responsibility. Proactively resolve issues to improve the Portfolio\'s performance and reduce ER case numbers, including informal resolution where appropriate.
  • Support managers with a variety of ER cases such as sickness and attendance management, disciplinary, performance and conflict resolution. Attend formal meetings, providing advice and options to resolve cases.
  • For formal cases, support managers during hearings, providing HR support. Co-deliver in‑house training on topics such as conflict resolution, performance management and attendance at work to managers and colleagues within the portfolio.
  • Contribute to achieving NHS HR objectives by applying current employment law and best practice, and coordinate ER case work across multiple workplace activities as required.
  • Participate in training delivery and development of staff and managers on ER topics.
  • Maintain flexible approach to responsibilities and travel as required.
Qualifications

Essential

  • Working towards Associate CIPD qualification with evidence of on‑going CPD
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Equivalent Experience

Desirable

  • Associate CIPD qualification
  • Post graduate level of study
  • Coaching qualification
Experience

Essential

  • Experience providing advice and support to managers and staff on HR matters with minimal supervision
  • Experience advising managers through investigations and at disciplinary hearings
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment law and good employment practice
  • Experience handling complex, contentious and highly sensitive employee relations issues, including writing management statements of case and advising at hearings
  • Experience coordinating multiple workplace activities (e.g., ER case work)
  • Commitment to partnership working and knowledge of the current NHS HR agenda
  • Experience in a complex, busy, large‑scale organisation
