Job description

These are exciting times at ARAG UK, and we have an excellent opportunity for an HR Operations Manager to join our hard‑working and friendly People and Property department!

As an integral part of the People Shared Services management team, you will lead the strategic design and delivery of HR systems, employee lifecycle workflows, and HR analytics. You’ll have the opportunity to own the HRIS (HR Information System), whilst overseeing the HR ticketing system and driving automation and service improvements. In addition, you will look to shape timely, intuitive employee interactions across key life‑cycle moments such as onboarding, maternity leave and many more!

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in crafting and improving the operational backbone of a high‑growth, people‑first organisation, including leading the workforce planning cycle in conjunction with the HRBP and Finance teams. This is an opportunity to shape the HRIS strategy, elevate the quality of employee experience, and influence data‑driven people initiatives across the business, while managing a talented support team.

More about the team:

Headed up by Ian Screen (Head of People Shared Services), you will join a highly‑skilled team, whilst working closely with stakeholders across the People & Property department in addition to the wider business. The role holder will line‑manage the People Administrators team as well as the Systems & Data Lead, providing mentoring, setting goals, managing success as well as promoting best practice. Ensuring good customer outcomes is at the heart of everything we do, and you will role‑model a customer‑service ethos within the team and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a wealth of experience in an HR Operations / People Services environment, with demonstrable experience in managing HRIS systems and employee lifecycle workflows. You'll be data‑driven and process‑minded, with a keen eye for detail and efficiency improvement whilst maintaining the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with stakeholders of all levels. In addition, we are keen to hear from candidates with the following:

  • Experience of and passion for managing operational teams in HR, with ability to motivate and develop team members, with a strong customer‑centric attitude
  • Proven experience of managing a HRIS (e.g. iTrent, Cascade, Workday, Sage, SAP), demonstrable hands‑on experience and a 'get involved' approach
  • Capability in leading system improvements, process automation and service delivery enhancements, with a focus on fast and pragmatic incremental gains
  • Strong data and analytics skills, with comfortability working with Excel, dashboards and query tools
  • It is desirable if you have previous experience of HRIS migration projects, or experience with engagement pulse surveys, insight extraction, and HR metrics storytelling

Only a stone's throw from Bristol Temple Meads station, we have newly refurbished and modern city centre offices. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and in return for your commitment we will offer you generous remuneration and a benefits package to include:

  • Private Medical Insurance
  • 27 days holiday with the option to buy up to a further 5 days
  • Company pension scheme with the option to increase contributions
  • Group Income Protection for all employees
  • Group Legal Protection for all employees
  • European Motor Assistance and Home Emergency Assistance
  • Salary sacrifice benefits including a Cycle scheme
  • A comprehensive wellbeing programme including an employee Health Cash Plan
  • Access to our employee discounts hub offering exclusive discounts across thousands of retail partners

If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the criteria listed above.
