Job description

This HR Officer position will see you providing generalist guidance and support to departments. Whilst in this role you will work in a truly beautiful setting and be part of one of Cambridge's most prestigious organisations.

Based in central Cambridge, this part-time opportunity offers 22.5 hours per week, across 3 or 4 days, and £22,085 per annum (£38,009 FTE).

The Role:

  • Provide first line HR support
  • Maintain HR records and update sickness and other absences on to the HRIS
  • HR Administration - issuing contracts of employment, data reporting
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including producing job packs, advertising vacancies, and coordinating interviews and carry out DBS and compliance checks
  • Manage Visa sponsorship
  • Participate in ER meetings to ensure accurate note taking

The Person:

  • Previous generalist HR experience is essential across recruitment, employee development, guidance and support, and training - Ideally with a CIPD L5 qualification or hands-on experience
  • An individual who has previously worked in higher education is desirable
  • Good sound knowledge of HR policies and procedures, along with Employment Law
  • A HR professional who is hardworking, self-sufficient, enthusiastic, and resilient.
