A local government authority is seeking an experienced HR Officer to manage casework, including sickness and grievances. The HR Officer will provide advisory support to managers and engage with employees and Trade Unions. Strong experience in Employee Relations and solid knowledge of HR legislation is required. Somerset Council is the second largest unitary authority in the Country which is on a journey of transformation.
We need to build capacity within the HR Advisory Service and require an experienced HR Officer to undertake casework over the next few months.
The HR Officer must be experienced in managing HR Casework and be able to hit the ground running with a varied caseload which may include sickness, grievances and disciplinaries. They will be required to advise on Somerset Council policies alongside protected arrangements under TUPE Regulations. The Officer will provide advisory support to Managers and will also be required to engage with employees and Trade Unions.
Somerset Council supports Hybrid working, Requirement to work in County Hall, Taunton minimum 2 days per week and to travel around Somerset – Access to personal vehicle desirable
