Job summary

A recruitment consultancy is seeking a Human Resources Officer to provide HR support across their Guernsey and Jersey offices. The role includes organizing personnel records, managing onboarding processes, coordinating staff training, and ensuring compliance with GDPR. The ideal candidate will have experience in HR or administration, excellent communication skills, and preferably hold a CIPD qualification. This position offers flexible part-time hours, 30 hours per week.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Human Resources Officer to provide generalist HR support across their Guernsey and Jersey offices, working closely with the Head of HR to deliver best-practice people management. This position can be flexible with slightly part-time hours (30 hours per week).

Location
Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Organising and maintaining personnel records and tracking changes.
  • Delivering inductions and ensuring seamless onboarding.
  • Managing professional memberships, CPD records and supporting training programmes.
  • Coordinating work experience, temporary staff and early-career programmes.
  • Maintaining HR databases and staff documentation.
  • Supporting policy reviews and procedural updates.
  • Scheduling interviews and HR-related meetings.
  • Supporting recruitment, retention and engagement initiatives.
  • Ensuring GDPR compliance.
  • Working with H&S on staff and building matters.
  • Assisting Compliance with CMP testing and regulatory checks.
  • Managing GFSC/JFSC registration updates for Financial Advisers.
  • Administering benefits, healthcare, pension plans and monthly payroll changes.
  • Maintaining MHFA responsibilities and supporting staff wellbeing.
  • Supporting cross-jurisdictional HR matters and wider HR projects.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with employees.
Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be organised, discreet and able to manage multiple priorities with confidence. They should bring excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal awareness and a fair, ethical approach to people matters. Experience in HR or administration is important, and working towards (or holding) a CIPD qualification would be highly beneficial. A high level of confidentiality and emotional intelligence is essential.
