HR Manager (Maternity Leave Contract – 6 Months)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to provide maternity leave cover for approximately six months, supporting around 140 employees across 7 depots nationally. With payroll now managed by Accounts, this role is focused on people leadership, HR operations, supporting depot managers, and guiding the people component of ongoing business growth activities.

A comprehensive January handover will be provided, and the outgoing HR Manager will remain available for fortnightly check‑ins during the contract for continuity and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide HR guidance to managers and employees across all depots.

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and staff movements.

  • Lead and support HR components of Mergers & Acquisitions, including people integration, due diligence, organisation structure updates, and communication planning.

  • Manage employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary matters.

  • Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, NES, awards, and company policies.

  • Maintain HRIS and personnel records.

  • Support safety, training, and engagement initiatives.

  • Drive consistency across sites and uphold HR best practice.

  • Collaborate closely with Accounts for payroll‑related inputs (as required).

About You
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor stepping up.

  • Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting M&A processes, including organisational change, employee transfer, and integration.

  • Experience in multi‑site, blue‑collar, logistics, transport, or similar operational environments preferred.

  • Confident managing ER matters and supporting operational managers.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Contract Details
  • 6‑month fixed‑term contract (February–August, with January handover).

  • Fortnightly check‑ins with the current HR Manager for support and smooth transition.

Salary Range

Perth HR Manager – 6‑month contract rate:

  • $120,000 – $130,000 + super (pro‑rata)
