The Role

Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Manager serves as a trusted partner to the business in Asia by providing HR advice and solutions and delivering efficient and timely services which are aligned with global corporate objectives. This role leads and executes HR initiatives and projects that drive organizational performance and employee engagement in collaboration with the global HR team including HR Business Partners, Recruitment, Rewards & Benefits, HRIS and Learning & Development.

Specific duties & responsibilities

HR Business Partner

  • Builds strong understanding of client groups and their strategy and develop trusted relationships as a HR Business Partner
  • Provide guidance and advice on all activities impacting the employees such as engagement, succession planning, performance management and learning and development
  • Provide guidance and support on all employee relations matters
  • Partner with HR Director to roll out relevant projects and initiatives to ensure client groups are aligned with corporate strategies and business goals
  • Work with Recruitment to ensure client groups acquire and retain talent who fit into the team
  • Partner with Learning & Development team in the planning and execution of programmes in line with the needs of the client groups

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of core HR operations within the region throughout the employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding, including but not limited to payroll, visa and benefit administration, HR document preparation as well as HR record maintenance
  • Ensure HR operations and service delivery meet corporate standards and consistency while ensuring compliance with applicable local legislations, with an eye on latest trends for continuous improvement
  • Participate in Rewards projects and assist with regional implementation of rewards initiatives; support regular activities including insurance renewal and new process implementation & administration
  • Ensure the effective use of key systems (such as Workday, MyHR and Source)
  • Keep up to date relevant legislative updates and communicate to stakeholders to ensure compliance

Employee Engagement

  • Drive execution of corporate and HR strategic initiatives in employment engagement such as delivering wellbeing and CSR activities and implementation of HR programs
  • Work with HR members to ensure effective utilisation of resources to support calendar of HR events
  • Improve employee experience by regularly reviewing, improving and innovating HR programs such as new joiner induction
  • Champion ED&I practices within HR and across the whole organisation

Team Development & Vendor Management

  • Manage HR Coordinator to ensure core HR activities are delivered timely and accurately
  • Encourage development of team members to ensure maximum flexibility of resource
  • Drive simplification of processes and practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage external suppliers for HR Services including international assignment support and temporary staff management

The Candidate

  • Undergraduate or post graduate qualification with minimum 12 years HR experience
  • Strong technical HR Knowledge and business acumen
  • Culturally aware and able to work with colleagues with various cultural background
  • Proven stakeholder management skills in building trust and relationships with line managers
  • Strong communication skills in English and Chinese and able to influence senior leaders across geographies and cultures
  • Ability to be strategic in problem solving while having high attention to details where required
  • Experience in design and implementation of creative employee engagement and development programs
  • Experience in change management programs e.g. organisation restructure
  • Solid project management skills in managing complex projects effectively to conclusion
  • Hands-on knowledge of Workday with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of implementing best practice of HR operational and administration processes
  • Strong management skills in developing and motivating HR Coordinator in the delivery of HR operations in the region
