Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen the company’s HR function as it continues to scale. There is a clear path to HR Director (HRD) within the next 23 years for the right individual. You’ll bring both strategic insight and hands‑on HR expertise, supporting the business as it grows while helping to preserve the company’s family feel and close‑knit culture. The role is varied and dynamic, combining strategic leadership with day‑to‑day operational HR support and close partnership with managers and senior leaders. This role may particularly suit an ambitious HR Business Partner with 34 years experience looking for their next step into a leadership position where they can own and drive the HR function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with business goals and compliance requirements.
  • Lead on employee relations (ER), providing professional advice and coaching to managers.
  • Lead on induction and onboarding, ensuring every new employee experiences a warm, engaging introduction to the business and its values.
  • Design and manage career pathways, helping employees understand how they can grow and develop within the organisation.
  • Drive engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders and Heads of Teams to promote a positive, inclusive, and connected culture.
  • Manage HR administration, reporting, and compliance, ensuring all records and systems are accurate and up to date.
  • Champion initiatives that reinforce the company’s family‑oriented culture, helping to retain the friendly, supportive environment that has been key to its success.
About You
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role within a scale‑up or fast‑growing SME environment in a small team or single contributor role.
  • Confident operating in a standalone capacity, leading HR strategy and operations end‑to‑end.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law, ER case management, and HR best practice.
  • Experienced in leading onboarding and induction programmes that create a positive employee experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence and build trusted relationships across all levels.
  • Experience designing and delivering training workshops and supporting leadership development.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to balance people priorities and business needs.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification (or working towards) highly desirable.
  • Confident, self‑assured, and proactive, comfortable making decisions and driving change while remaining approachable and people‑focused.
Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the HR function for a growing, ambitious business that values its people and is determined to retain its friendly, family feel as it continues to expand.
