Job summary

Walkers Professional Services (WPS) in London seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager, EMEA, to partner with HR Directors and lead people-first initiatives across the region. This role encompasses employee lifecycle oversight and strategic HR guidance.

You will advise senior leaders on employment law, drive performance management, and support talent acquisition and remuneration in a fast-growing professional services environment. Strong relationship-building and autonomy are essential.

Qualifications

  • Typically 5+ years' experience in human resources.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in high-growth professional services, financial services, or technology-led organisations.
  • Able to build trusted relationships quickly at all levels, including with senior leaders.
  • Strong partnering, influencing and advisory skills.
  • Expert knowledge of local employment laws.
  • Autonomous working style.
  • Drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, managers and employees.
  • Manage employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support the management of performance/conduct/grievance processes.
  • Provide expert guidance on local employment laws and risk management.
  • Develop high impact performance management systems.
  • Manage the performance cycle in the region to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Identify skills needs/gaps now and for the future and collaborate with Resourcing and L&D teams.
  • Coach managers to build confidence, capability and healthy team environments.
  • Support the compensation review in the region.
  • Help shape and embed a values-led, inclusive culture, with a strong focus on engagement and DE&I.
  • Support and collaborate with the Resourcing team to ensure the recruitment process in the region reflects our values and needs.
  • Ensure employees are onboarded seamlessly and proactively.
  • Ensure local HR processes and operations are fit for purpose and aligned with our people vision.

The Role

The Human Resources Manager, EMEA works closely with the HR Directors and the HR team to support the achievement of business goals through our people. This role plays a central role in the implementation and management of human resources practices in the region and oversees the employee lifecycle, helping ensure our practices align with our values, local employment laws and a high-performing culture.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
  • Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, managers and employees.
  • Proactively manage employee engagement initiatives.

Education, Skills & Experience
  • Typically 5+ years' experience in human resources, ideally within fast-paced environments
  • Proven experience operating in high-growth professional services, financial services, or technology-led organisations
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, evolving environments
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships quickly at all levels, including with senior leaders
  • Strong partnering, influencing and advisory skills
  • Strong, hands-on experience across a broad range of HR matters, with expert knowledge of local employment laws
  • Able to work autonomously
  • A personal drive for high standards and continuous improvement, coupled with sound judgement and pragmatism

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level preferred
  • Professional HR certification strongly preferred
