Job summary

Avalon Group is an award-winning not-for-profit adult social care provider operating across the North of England, based in Harrogate. We are seeking an HR Manager to lead the HR and recruitment team, set priorities, and establish consistent ways of working to deliver high service standards.

You will drive onboarding, pre-employment checks, employee relations and data reporting, ensuring new colleagues are welcomed from day one and escalation routes are clear.

Qualifications

• Substantial generalist HR experience, including complex employee relations.
• Experience leading or developing an HR, people or recruitment team.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and contemporary HR practice.
• Experience improving recruitment, onboarding, workforce resourcing or candidate experience.
• Ability to coach, influence and use HR data to drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• HR team leadership: provide day-to-day leadership to the HR and recruitment team.
• Employee relations: lead complex or high-risk employee relations cases with evidence-based advice.
• Recruitment and resourcing: oversee end-to-end recruitment and onboarding services.
• Governance and improvement: maintain compliant HR policies and improve data quality.
